Our client’s had chartered several yachts before deciding to purchase their brand new Jeanneau 490 – Performance supplied by Euromarine, Croatia.
Donna Lee is a self proclaimed “light sleeper” and had always noticed the noise of a generator, especially with it operating overnight to power their charter vessel’s air conditioning. She had 3 major requirements for the boat
1- Air-Conditioning for Hot Mediterranean summers
2- No gas on the boat!. Which meant no Propane cooker. She wanted an Induction cooktop and stove.
3- No Genset that would keep her awake.
Doing their research, they came across our Advanced Generator Replacement Technology – Integrel.
Integrel has allowed them to do away with having to install a standalone diesel generator set. This excited them, so they went one step further and added an electric induction cooker and a Torqeedo outboard for their tender, eradicating the need for separate gas tanks and petrol – running their new vessel on a single fuel.
Also, it allowed them to avoid expensive, high-season marina costs, whilst operating with full autonomy, being able to run all of their house appliances, including:
We caught up with them recently, to see how they were finding their Integrel Solution having had the system onboard their boat for nine months.
“We’re delighted with Integrel, we don’t need to think about managing a genset, when we’re motoring we’re charging our lithium battery banks to operate all of our electrics onboard. With our 21 kWh 48V Torqeedo Lithium bank, we can be autonomous for two days without worry – we spent 90 days on one trip, we didn’t go pay for a marina berth once…Integrel is a game-changer for our cruising needs!” Donna Lee – Owner of Jeanneau 490, S/V Joy.
